Prof. D. Ravinder is the Patron of the DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University. He is the 25th Vice-Chancellor of the 100+ year old Osmania University. He has obtained M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees from the Osmania University. He joined the faculty of the Department of Political Science, Osmania University in 1990 and has more than thirty years of teaching, research and academic administrative experience. Prof. Ravinder is one of the few academic administrators of Telangana State to be Trained in Leadership in Academic Programmes (LEAP) sponsored by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India; at the University of Hyderabad and at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and has rich and diversified experience in research and academic administration. His research interests include, Indian Political Process, State Government and Politics, Public Polices with special reference to rural development and governance. He has a number of research articles and books to his credit. His writings prominently appeared in Economic & Political Weekly, Routledge Publishers, Sage Publications, Indian Journal of Political Science, Indian Journal of Public Administration. He has undertaken research projects funded by the UGC, ICSSR and other agencies.
