Intellectual Property Rights
Intellectual Property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, or 'intellect' such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used commercially. A property generated by a person using his/ her mind and intellect is called Intellectual Property and the rights over this property given to the individual are termed as Intellectual Property Rights. It is a wide concept and includes intellectual activities in fields such as industrial, literary, scientific and artistic. Copyright, Trademark, Patent, Designs are examples of such IPRs.

Prof. Kumar Molugaram is the Patron of the DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University. He is the 26th Vice-Chancellor of the 100+ year old Osmania University and Senior Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University College of Engineeringis a highly esteemed academic and researcher in Civil Engineering, with a career that spans over 29 years. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Osmania University, a Master's degree from J.N.T. University, and a Doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Currently, he serves as the Senior Professor of Civil Engineering at the University College of Engineering, Osmania University (OU), where he has made substantial contributions to both teaching and research.

Prof. G. B. Reddy is the founding Chair Professor of the DPIIR-IPR Chair at Osmania University. is a lawyer turned academician, and Professor of Law at University College of Law, Osmania University. He specialized in the area of Intellectual Property as an independent researcher, publisher and teacher. He authored 23 well received books on law including Intellectual Property Rights and Law, Copyright Law in India.
